Come join How Our Lives Link Altogether! (H.O.L.L.A!) for a series of dialogues and workshops about youth leadership in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. H.O.L.L.A! is a youth organizing collective dedicated to social justice. We are looking for youth interested in youth organizing, community building/healing and social justice. We are interested in building with youth of color (15-25 years old) who are already in leadership roles in their community and/or those who would like to become leaders in their community. This series of dialogues/workshops will focus on strategies to sustain and build the capacity and skills for activism and sustain youth leadership in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. Youth who participate in the series will have the opportunity lead and co-develop a social justice youth-led initiative in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community and beyond.

Program Description: The Youth Leadership and Healing series will consist of three (3) interactive sessions where youth of color will have the opportunity to discuss and analyze community-based issues and youth-driven solutions. In the series youth will collectively map out community-based issues, discuss and analyze ideas of community leadership and develop lists of skills and capacities they would like to learn to further their development leaders. Each session will be interactive and co-facilitated by all in the group. The sessions will all be infused with artistic expressions and ceremonial practices (i.e., poetry, music, rap, song, smudging, dance and circling).
